neurum creek bush retreat floraNeurum Creek Bush Retreat and Camp Ground is nestled between tree-lined Neurum Creek and the cliff-faces and forested slopes of the Mount Archer escarpment. Neurum Creek runs from the south to the north and is accessible at all points. There are several year round swimming areas in the creek, some suitable for small children while others are for the bigger kids and adults. It is a camping and recreation park suitable for individuals, families and large groups.

Set in very natural surroundings on 127 hectares, formerly a dairy farm and then used for beef cattle, this property no longer hosts domestic stock and is now home to native animals.  Located west of Caboolture, accessible by conventional vehicles and suitable for Tent Camping, Camper Trailers, Caravans and Motorhomes. Some visitors come just for the day, others stay a while longer. Campers can choose sites by the creek, in front of the gorge, on the hillside, or be a bit more remote in the bush area. There are nine powered sites. Both campers and day visitors can avail themselves of the free hot showers in the amenities blocks, ride their bicycles along the trails, bush walk along the creek and up the slopes, adventure hike into the gorges, swim in tree lined water holes and picnic under the trees.

Much of the creek side flats are used for camping and recreation areas while the steeper hilly areas provide some graded walks with wonderful views of the surrounding country. North to Mt Kilcoy, south to Mt Mee and east to the rolling foothills of Mt Archer and the associated valleys. An abundance of bird life is present on the property as well as a large variety of butterflies. Many species of trees and shrubs are found here along with seasonal wildflowers.

Platypus and turtles inhabit the creek as well as several species of fish. Red deer frequent the area and can be seen along the creek or on the slopes. Rabbits and hares as well as wallabies and kangaroos, all of which live in their natural state, can best be seen in the evening or early morning.

The distance from towns and other forms of artificial lighting make it an ideal place for those who like to star gaze at night.

  • Open fires are permitted in the designated areas
  • Motorbike riding is not permitted on the property
